Finnish body language tends to be very limited and therefore difficult to read. People should not mistake their lack of visible or verbal communication to lack of interest. 

• When talking to Finns, you must keep some physical distance from them.

• Do not hug, kiss or touch a Finn.

• You must maintain eye contact when speaking to Finns.

• Never talk to them with your hands in your pocket.

• Shake hands when entering or leaving social meetings. 

• You must respect their shyness and desire for privacy.

• Do not engage them in conversations in public places.
